”Cut! Keanu, you need to focus here. You are supposed to be in a panic and your expressions should match that feeling. Show me stronger emotions. And Tea, panic. Panic with your eyes and your movements.

This must come out clearly. This is not running in a park but escaping from monsters. Portray those feelings here. Okay.

We will shoot again in 10 minutes. Everyone back to their position. ”

Sofia shouted loudly from her position behind the camera.

After two weeks of filming, she had taken almost most of the shots of the actors wandering around the broken town, running in dense forest and shooting many good scenes.

Keanu and Tea are natural when it comes to acting and if you can guide them and clearly explain to them your intentions, they can adjust in small time. Their acting definitely helps in improving the quality of the movie.

The posters that they hung around the town gave a more feel to this movie and warning signs and broken windows across roads represent enough chaos needed for perfect shots.

Sofia loved her job behind the camera, and it was far easier than acting.

”I should have never acted in that movie, ” Sofia murmured to herself and tried to look for Sunny if he came back.

Sunny is supposed to pick up the reel for the visual effects and the post-processing details such as colour grading and adding the dark-blue tinge or grains on the shots to make them look more authentic and visually appealing.

Because of the extremely low budget, they have to make do with whatever they have.

However, the acting of her lead actors gave her enough confidence in the movie.

In the next two weeks, the shooting was almost finished. There were many passers-by who also joined as extra in exchange for some cash and performed with the crew to add more crowd and realistic shots.

They put up the cardboard tank in some places to show the presence of the military and a green screen that will be later used to add visuals of the army and finally they were heading back to New Zealand for the close-up shots of monsters and some real green screen shooting.

The six-member crew was tired, but they were full of energy when they all reached New Zealand.

”Welcome Sofia! ” Sunny hugged Sofia after she came outside the airport.

”You look like Shit! Truly beautiful shit! ” Sunny laughed and Sofia kicked him in his legs.

”Asshole! Lets go. I want to finish the remaining shots and hurry back for a good shower and nice meal. ” Sofia said while pushing Sunny away and getting straight in the car.

The actors and the crew followed them back in the van.

In the van, Keanu kept thinking about this movie and its chances of success. In his opinion, this was a very low-budget movie, but the producer and director added visual effects and aliens in the script making it more conflicting.

”Will this movie even find a distributor? ” Keanu sighed and closed his eyes to take a rest.

Tea kept looking at the beautiful scenery outside. For her, the last whole month was a life-changing experience. She learned a lot from Sofias guidance and her acting has definitely improved.

She could deliver her lines better and express many emotions with her eyes and body language.

These were some finer details that she picked up during shooting.

”Keanu, do you think this movie will be a success? Will we win some awards? ” Tea asked Keanu who was getting some shuteye.

”Well, she is Coppola. We will definitely win some awards. It might be a golden lion or a Razzie. But an award for sure. ”

Keanu replied before giving her a you know look.

Tea definitely remembers how Sofia was awarded two Razzies (Golden Raspberry Awards) for her performance in the last part of Godfather. This was truly an insult and shame for the Coppola family.

”I don think my acting is that terrible. Is it Keanu? ” She asked worriedly.

”It matters on final processing, the editing and in the end, it depends upon the expectations. You have to know, that many people are waiting for Sofia to fail in this movie, so they have gossip for new articles.

The higher the fame, the greater the infamy, Tea. ”

Keanu said scaring Tea. Other members of the crew hardly cared. They were simply doing their job and after this movie is over, they will join some other crew.

They are just low-level technicians, and their work mostly came from their CAA agents.

Sofia came to check the present effects, colour processing and final shots along with the props that were used. Visual effects are something many industry insiders are still unaware of in their practical nature.

Sofia knows a lot about the shooting but for visual effects, she thinks this work can be handed over to the photography director or visual director without any pressure. However, the small and detailed miniature model still fascinated her.

The shooting continued while in parallel, Sunny took the actors to a nearby audio studio for the dubbing. This is also an important part that cannot be ignored. Many scenes need dubbing but thankfully, the studio didn charge them much.

Sunny also picked some suspense music that was already available for horror movies for better effects.

Sound designing is also a meticulous task but in low-production movies, the entire thing can be done cheaply by using sound templates after a quick dubbing.

The green screen shooting became difficult for the rookie actors as they had to act in front of a green screen but without any other actor or any cue. This was purely acting alone with their imagination.

In the end, the close-up shots of the tentacle monster chasing Tea in a warehouse along with nearly grabbing Keanus feet were captured and the shooting came to a close.

”CUT! ” Sofia shouted loudly.

”I announce the filming is over. Lets put the film safely back and have a party later. ” Sofia shouted loudly and all the people on set cheered after finishing this short but tense shooting schedule.
