Spoiled by Beast

•ROYS POV•

”Hey! Maria!?! Hey, hey hey! ” I put her limp body down and started patting her face but she didn respond. Her face getting paler and paler, I looked her down in urgency.

”Maria! Hey! Wake up, damn it! ”

I bite my tongue and quickly picked her up and ran to the house, I wasted no time in putting her down onto the leaves.

Rushing back out the door I run through the trail.

Catching up to Will who was walking on home he turned around and looked at me in confusion.

I skidded to a stop, and looked him in the eye.

”Please, can you get the doctor! Maria passed out. ”

Wills eyes widened and looked at me, he nodded and ran down the path way back to the village.

I clicked my tongue anxiously, and ran back to the house.

She was still deathly pale and it seemed like she would sleep through even the loudest of roars.

I looked at her in worry, when had I grown such a attachment this female. We didn even know eachother for long.

Yes she was attractive, but even the attractive ones usually don have my attention so dearly pressed into them.

Why was she any different?

I looked at her making sure her face didn look pained. I felt like I had failed, what if she had been sick all this time and Im just now tending to her?

If that is the case I have failed my job as a male. I ran my hand through my hair and paced around the house.

Suddenly the board on my entrance was stung away, and in entered the villages doctor.

”Im here to check the female. ” He said quickly moving to Marias side.

I watched him warily as he peeled her eyes open and checked her pulse.

Will walked in nervously, looking at Maria.

He came to my side and looked up at me.

”H-has she stirred after you got back home? ”

I shook my head furrowing my brows.

”Hasn even flinched. ”

Will glanced at me his eyes wary, but when he looked at Maria there was a softness.

I wanted to get out of the room, I didn want him looking at her like that. It made me irritated, beyond belief

I looked down at the floor and bit my tongue, clenching my fist.

Please let her be alright….

•MARIAS POV•

I hear the distant sounds of people talking, I catch a few words here and there.

But its nothing from what I could make a sentence out of, everything was dark. The coolness touches my skin, making me shiver slightly.

My eyelids felt heavy as if someone had super glued them shut and then stapled them just to be safe.

The mumbling soon got easier to tell what the people where saying.

”Is she going to be okay? ” I hear a deep voice say worriedly.

”Im not sure…I haven ever heard of a female just suddenly passing out like that. ” A older voice said, I felt a warm hand on my forehead.

It sent tingles throughout my body, my breath hitched for a bit before calming.

”D-do you think that her throwing up e-earlier might have something to do with it? ” I began to recognize the voices, this was Wills worried gruff tone.

I didn want to be a problem, but my eyes refused to be opened.

”It could very well be a sickness, but to cause a black out like this… ” the older male took his hand off my forehead and his presence by my side faded.

”Give her some rest…but she needs something that will keep her warm, her skin is chilled to the touch. ” The older mans voice echoed throughout the small room.

”L-Li- R-Roy I got some snow beasts pelts. I-Ill go get them, they should keep even a frozen beast man warm. ”

The doctors foot steps fade away slowly, I feel a warm hand caress my cheek.

”Alright… ”

Silence… I couldn hear anything but Roys soft breaths.

”Damn it… I should have been more observant… ” I hear him mutter the hand left my face and I felt large fingers grasp my hand.

”Im so stupid…Why didn I catch it sooner? ”

The room went silent again, for a while it stayed that way, warmth radiated from Roys hand to mine.

”Hey Im back! ” I heard Will enter the room and Roys hand left mine and footsteps followed.

”Here Ill help you put them on her. ”

I felt fuzzy things being put on my body, soon I started to get warmer.

”Has she stirred y-yet? ” I heard Wills gravely voice.

”No… ”

”Her color is coming back into h-her face, it seems she is getting better at least. ”

”Yeah… ”

I felt a hand brush through my hair getting the hair out of my face.

”S-so…Are you her male? ”

”Huh? No, I-Im not. ” I hear Roys voice slightly crack, silenced echoed about until Will opened his mouth.

”Oh. ”

Awkward silence floats around for a while, I felt slightly bad for Will assuming he was probably extremely nervous about this situation.

”W-well, if she wakes up tell me… I-I can watch her while you hunt. ” Wills soft steps echo throughout the room

”Alright… ”

Silence followed, no noise no nothing.

I wanted to open my eyes and say Im fine but my eyes were too heavy.

Darkness enveloped me again… All was quiet.

I was in a valley when my sight came into view, a felt a tug on my hand and looked down. A little girl with black hair with orange streaks in it was pulling me along.

I went to say something but no words came out, the girl looked over her shoulder her bright blue eyes peered at me.

”Mama? ”

Suddenly all went black and a different scene peered in-front of my eye.

Three men were looking at me quizzically,

I couldn tell what their faces looked like at all.

A dark over cast clouded them, I heard faint voices.

”Maria? ”

”Maria? ”

”Maria, wake up. ” A rough voice stated from behind me.

I turned around and looked, the only thing I caught was unruly unkept hair that was black with orange streaks.

Then everything faded, I heard the sound of birds I gathered the strength to peel open my eye.

I was almost blinded by the light coming in through the small cracks I the stone walls.

I blinked a couple times trying to gather my bearings.

I felt warm, a pile of animal skins were stuck on top of me a Roy in his lion form slept by my side.

My stomach started feeling nauseous as I tried to sit up, at that moment more light suddenly shined in as the wooden makeshift door was moved off the door.

It blinded me so bad I went to shield my eyes my other arm shook Weakly.

”Maria? ” Wills gruff voice muttered in shock.

”Y-your awake! ” I looked at him in confusion squinting.

Roy shot up immediately, transforming out of his lion form he put his hand on my back helping me steady myself.

”Hey, hey, hey, hey take it easy. ”

He grabbed some of the pelts that was piled on top of me and set them on the wall helping me scoot back so I was propped up.

”Will! Watch her Im going to go get her some food. ”

”H-huh? O-kay! ” He stuttered as Roy ran out of the house.

Will gently put the wood back on the entrance of the house and came over to me.

”Y-you feeling okay? ”

”I feel a bit nauseous… but Im okay how long have I been out? ”

”Since mid morning yesterday…W-we were worried about you… ”

I looked at him a bit shocked I had really been out of it since yesterday.

”What time is it now? ” I asked in slight panic for no reason, my anxiousness overwhelmed me.

”A-about to be noon. ”

A full day, I had been unconscious. I couldn believe that a withdrawal could cause this, I had been under some emotional stress as well which may have helped.

”H-hey Maria? ”

I looked over to Will a slight pink flush was on his cheeks.

”Hm? ”

”Are you really okay? D-do I need to get you anything? ” He asked in a nervous manner like I was going to snap at him at any minute.

”Uh do yall have any buckets? Or large bowls? I think I might throw up if this nausea keeps up. ” I said nervously laughing scratching my cheek.

Will nodded and got up, he left for a bit before entering the house again.

He had four buckets in his hands he put them at the edge of the makeshift bed.

”If you need o-one just tell me. ”

I smiled and nodded at the shy male.

•WILLS POV•

Her smile made my heart flutter about in my chest, I really did feel like I could do anything if I was near her. Even though we had just met I felt drawn to her in every aspect.

I knew I had no, chance… I was the ugliest out of my siblings… Mother said to win a females heart I would have to use my personality, but she assured I didn even have that…

But even so, this female made me feel a way I had never felt. I knew nothing about her, but I could tell she had a gentle soul and a kind heart.

I knew I would never be good enough to be a male of hers, but I could still… watch her life from a distance right?

I was stuck in my own thoughts when I felt soft fingers run along my arm. I flinched and snapped my head towards her.

My face felt hot with heat, she looked at me was a concerned face.

”…Um h-how did you get these scars? ”

Her voice was a sweet ring in ones ear, I looked down self consciously at my arms.

Thin and wide scars slashed about all over, I rubbed them wanting to hide the imperfections.

”I-…Um… ”

”Oh! Is it something personal? Im sorry! you don have to tell me if your uncomfortable about it! ” She waved her hands in the quirky way it seems she tends to do.

I smiled at her and went to say something.

•MARIAS POV•

His smile was filled with warmth and gentleness, my heart clenched harshly as butterflies filled my stomach.

Was my body betraying me? Falling for someone I have just met? How cliché, I could not focus on a love life.

I needed to get back to my world, my world….

”When I was a cub, me and my mom were sitting at home waiting for her males and my father to get back home. ”

He began explaining his story, to me his gruff voice became soothing as he went on.

”The village was usually well protected but a beast monster got into our home, it almost got momma… but I jumped in-front of it taking the beating. It was a good thing that her males came home when they did because I wouldn be here if they had been even a minute later… ”

I looked at him my heart ached a bit, I gently put my hand on his. He stiffened and looked up at me his face beat red.

”That was very brave of you, protecting your mother like that. Its admirable, and you should be very proud at even such a young age having the heart of a warrior. ” I said looking him in the eye, his face was shocked for a bit until he looked at me with kind eyes.

I took my hand off of his.

”T-thank you for your kind words…These scars really, are a b-burden. ” He said shyly looking down at them.

”I think. ” I said poking his forehead, he looked up his face slightly flushed.

”They show that you were willing to take a sacrifice for someone you loved. You should take honor in that. ”

His face lit up and he gave a huge smile.
