“Speak of.
I really like how that man looked with his glasses on.
Did you see that dangling gold chain? He looked so much like a chivalrous scum!”

“!”

Gu Nian came to a stop all of a sudden.

Gold chain? Spectacles?

Could he be……

Gu Nian whipped around suddenly.

She hesitated all but 0.1 seconds before she turned and headed toward the crowd.

Looking for someone in a crowd is difficult.
Looking for someone who stands out particularly because of his good looks, however, is easy.

A minute or two later, Gu Nian found her target under a tree next to the only entrance toward the front hall.

“Luo Xiu!”

The girl’s voice with unconcealed pleasant surprise reached the man through the bustling noises and irritable hot air.

Luo Xiu turned around and there was a shred of surprise in his dark brown eyes.
“Gu Nian.”

“It’s been a few days.
I didn’t think I would run into you here!” The girl looked up at him with a bright smile.

“Did you come looking for me?”

“Mmhmm!”

“How did you know I am here? I had just arrived.”

Gu Nian didn’t notice that his question was a bit odd.
She pointed at the romance hall behind her and smiled, “I heard someone talking about you over there.
It sounded a lot like you so I thought I would come and take a look.
Turned out it was you!”

Luo Xiu chuckled and lowered his eyes.
“I didn’t know I could do that.”

“Huh?”

Gu Nian didn’t catch what he said and got a little closer to him.

Luo Xiu looked back up and saw the girl in front of him with her cheeks flushed and her pair of black eyes looking like they had lakes in them.

Luo Xiu’s eyes flickered and, smiling slightly, he said, “I didn’t say anything.”

“Mmm.” Gu Nian did not second guess him at all.
Standing back up, she smiled and asked, “What are you doing here?”

Luo Xiu paused a little.

He didn’t feel appropriate to divulge about matters concerning Qiao Xi’s family but what else could he……

Seeing that Luo Xiu was silent, Gu Nian’s mind churned.
Looking at where Luo Xiu was standing and then at the only destination behind her that the path led to, Gu Nian turned back around and smiled.
“I get it.”

“?” Luo Xiu looked at her.

“You are here for a reading, right?”

Luo Xiu, “A reading?”

“No? There’s only the fortunetelling hall behind us.” Gu Nian turned slightly and gestured at the most crowded area.
“Career, health, wealth, marriage.
You can ask about all those over there.”

The emotions under Luo Xiu’s eyes stirred and, by the time Gu Nian turned back around, he had already returned to his normal gentle self.
“Right, I am here for a reading.”

Gu Nian was curious.
“What are you asking about? The suggestion here is to only ask about one area.”

Luo Xiu lowered his eyes and he seemed to be smiling, “Romance.”

“……”

Gu Nian looked at Luo Xiu, dazed, for a few seconds before she finally confirmed that he meant the “romance” that she was thinking about.

Recollecting herself, Gu Nian was tearing up inside: Sure enough, her precious son had reached that age already.
He is putting romance over his career.

Mom’s very sad but mom can’t say that out loud.

The sad old mother forced a smile on herself and said, “I know which hall to go to ask about romance.
Why don’t I show you over there?”

“That will be great.”

Luo Xiu lowered his eyes and his smile was gentle.

Gu Nian had just turned back around when the phone in her pocket rang.
She paused a little and said to Luo Xiu, “I need to take this.”

“Sure.
No problem.”

Gu Nian pulled out her phone and the indicator said it was a call from Jiang Xiaoqing.
Something dawned on her and she quickly answered the call.

“Where have you been, Gu Nian? How come I didn’t see you over at the career hall side?”

Gu Nian said with a guilty conscience, “Em, about that.
I just ran into Luo Xiu and we were chatting a little.
I am on the paved road in front of the hall and I will be back shortly.”

Jiang Xiaoqing, “?”

Jiang Xiaoqing sneered after a few seconds of silence.
“Oh, you who forgets one’s responsibilities when you run into your son.
Spill.
Did you forget all about me the second that you saw Luo Xiu?”

“No.” Gu Nian pressed down on her conscience.
“It was a coincidence.
A coincidence.”

“Hrm.”

“Let’s talk in a bit.
Why don’t you head back to the romance hall? Let’smeet under the stone stairs.”

“……”
