Yang Han replied, “I’m the princess.”

Ah, what the heck.
Deleting that right away.

She sent over a different reply, “What…do you think?”

Xu Jia who was on the other end answered without any hesitation, “Is your dad…together with your cousin? A forbidden love with a younger gong?”

Yang Han: “……”

She regretted not accumulating a few beautiful sentences of curses before, resulting in her being at a loss of words in times like this when she wanted to use them.

Yang Han pursed her lips together for a while, her fingers hovering over the screen for a long time.
In the end, she finally typed out, “Actually…”

“I have two dads.”

Xu Jia: “!!!”

She said, “Is it…what I think it is?”

Yang Han tested the waters first, “What are you thinking of?”

Xu Jia’s use of ellipses increased a lot, “You guys…are…a same-sex family?”

It only required the effort of pressing three keys, but it felt like a long time had passed for Yang Han.
Maybe in comparison to her heart that was beating extremely fast, these few seconds became excruciatingly long.

She stared at the ‘yes’ she had typed out in the text box before solemnly pressing the ‘send’ button.

Xu Jia: “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.”

Yang Han got nervous for no reason.
She really wanted to know Xu Jia’s thoughts on this, but before she could finish typing out ‘What do you think’, a normal message popped up among the many ‘Ahhhh’s.

“Aren’t you too blessed, little princess?”

Yang Han froze for a moment.

She subconsciously replied, “Maybe it’s better to say eldest princess after all?”

Well, because…little princess isn’t very pleasant to hear.

It was as if a warm stream was spreading across her face, she felt every blood vessel under her skin beating to the rhythm of her heartbeat, reaching even to the tips of her trembling fingertips.

“Aren’t you too blessed?”

She stared at those six words.

Yang Han had always believed that she was very blessed.
Although she couldn’t find any extravagant words or phrases to explain it, she knew that she had two really, really, really great dads.

“”

Important things need to be said three times.
With that three ‘really’s, it meant that they were the best in the world.

Before this however, she had always viewed this happiness as a small flower growing in the greenhouse that could only be appreciated by itself.
And with only a handful of soil, it was carefully raised in the palm of her hands.

But now, there was someone else who also thought she was really blessed.

She also said that the flower was really beautiful.

Yang Mo, who saw her standing outside for a long time and had yet to come in, called out to her.

Yang Han hurriedly replied her with a ‘I’m going to eat dinner now’ and added a ‘laughing till tears came out’ emoji later on.

She sweetly answered Yang Mo, “I’m coming!”

Yang Han was in a really happy mood now.

She first jumped into Yang Mo’s arms and hugged him as tightly as she could, “Dad!”

Yang Mo blinked at her for a few seconds before patting her back despite not knowing what was going on, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, it’s nothing.” Yang Han lifted her head out of Yang Mo’s arms and pounced on Han Shi Yu – who was filling up the bowls – from behind.

Han Shi Yu staggered forward, almost spilling the soup he was scooping out.
He turned around to look at her in confusion, “Are you launching a terrorist attack?”

Yang Han shouted at him again, “Dad!”

Han Shi Yu stared at her, raising his eyebrow, “Flattery doesn’t come without reason.
What are you up to?”

“…Then I won’t call you dad anymore from now on.” Yang Han let go of him and sat down on the chair, excitedly asking, “Old Han, what’s for dinner tonight?”

Yang Han’s appetite was particularly big for this meal, as though she had been starved since lunch.

After dinner, Han Shi Yu lost in rock, paper, scissors so he was in charge of cleaning up the plates.
Yang Han couldn’t wait any longer, throwing herself towards the couch and picked up her phone.

Han Shi Yu noticed the way Yang Han kept giggling like a fool at her phone screen, which looked really strange.

Meanwhile, Yang Han was reading through Xu Jia’s messages one by one.

“Han Shi Yu is your dad?? No way.
Han Shi Yu is gay??”

“Oh my gosh, this would cause an explosion in the media, the kind where it stays in the hot searches for three days straight.”

“Ahhh but to think my Ji Yue CP has been broken apart like this, sobs sobs.
I’m going to bawl my eyes out tonight.”

Yang Han quickly sent over a reply, “By the way, don’t spread this around first, okay?”

Xu Jia replied with an ‘OK’ emoji and said, “Do you want to personally tell the class president, Xiao Lu and the others?”

“”

Yang Han fell into silence for a while.
Perhaps that ‘yes’ reply of hers from earlier on gave her tremendous courage, so now she felt a lot more relaxed to answer back, “Sure.”

Xu Jia: “Then I suggest we create a group chat and add them all in…Read the link I sent you first…My heart is so broken.”

Yang Han: “Ohh.”

She clicked on the link and realized it was the sequel to ‘As if a fish bone was stuck in one’s throat’ written by the same author with the ID name, ‘Aurora Leaping Towards North’1.

Yang Han’s memories were dug up instantly.
The angst that refused to leave and was still lingering around tugged on her heart.
Filled with awe, she clicked into the fanfiction.

After reading the description at the beginning, she was suddenly called by Yang Mo.

Yang Han: “Ah?”

She placed her phone down and dragged her feet over where Yang Mo’s voice was faintly coming from.

“—Your school is planning on starting a programming class and your teacher chose a few students with better math scores for opinions.
He’s asking if you want to go or not?”

Yang Han: “Umm…”

Han Shi Yu had been waiting for this chance for a long time now.
Pretending to retrieve the laundry from the balcony, he glanced at Yang Han’s phone screen that wasn’t turned off in time as he passed by the couch.

Then, before Yang Han returned, he acted like everything was normal, walking away naturally like he was headed to the balcony in the first place.

The phone screen faded into black.

Yang Han glanced at him when she got back.
Picking up her phone from the couch, she went to her room to continue enjoying the literature work.

While mumbling something, Han Shi Yu walked back into the house.

Footnotes

极光跃北 = The ID name has a pun in it, which basically takes the CP name, Ji Yue to form a different phrase on its own.
