Ning Zhi could see how tired Old Mr.
Ning was.
It was the middle of the night and, after an entire night at the banquet, Old Mr.
Ning hadn’t even had a chance to rest up before he went over to see her at the hospital, worried-sick.
It was a lot for an old man like him and he looked very tired right now.

Ning Zhi did not contradict what he had said and she nodded.
“Alright, Grandpa.
You must be very tired.
You should go get some rest.”

Ning told the butler to go and prepare the room before he headed back to his own room with the help of his cane.

Over to one side, Lu Jue’s pitch-black eyes looked quietly at Ning Zhi.
He heard what Grandpa had said.
He didn’t want him sleeping with Zhizhi.

Lu Jue kept his lips pinched shut; he was unhappy.

The butler quickly had someone go readied the room.

Lu Jue kept his head lowered and did not make a sound.

Ning Zhi had agreed to Lu Jue staying inside the guest bedroom mostly because she worried that she wasn’t a good sleeper and that she would come into contact with Lu Jue’s wound when she was asleep.

She said to Lu Jue after she had brought him to the guest bedroom next to her room, “The butler had already brought you luggage over from the hotel.
Be careful not to get your wound wet when you shower in a bit.”

“Now go sleep.
I’ll be next door.
You come over if you need anything.”

Lu Jue lowered his eyes and slowly and reluctantly grunted a “Mmm.”

Ning Zhi returned to her room and changed out of her clothes along with the high heels that she had on.

She, too, was tired from running around all night long.

She laid down in bed after she had showered but she was not sleepy at all.
She couldn’t stop thinking about Lu Jue next door and debated whether she should go and check on him.

Right then, inside the quiet bedroom, there was knocking on the door.

Ning Zhi paused for a little before climbing out of bed to get the door.

Standing outside the door was Lu Jue’s tall and large body in his red silk pajama.
His hair was still wet and hanging in front of his forehead.
His eyes were limpid and in his arms was the red pillow that he had brought with him from home.

His deep and hoarse voice was particularly clear in a quiet night like this.
“Sleep you.”

I want to sleep with you.

Ning Zhi paused a little and, suddenly, her black and bright eyes were filled with smile.
She held his hand and brought him inside the room with her.
“Yes, let’s sleep together.”

He wanted to sleep with her and why would she not grant him such a simple wish?

Lu Jue’s eyelids fluttered a little and happiness could be seen between his eyes and brows.

Walking inside of Ning Zhi’s room, he looked around curiously.

The entire room was pink.
Pretty.

He could pick up Zhizhi’s scent in the air.
Lu Jue liked the room.

Ning Zhi brought him over to the bed and gestured for him to sit there.
She then quickly brought over the towel to dry his hair with and finally felt relieved when she saw that his wound did not get wet.

Lu Jue’s back was straight and he just allowed for Ning Zhi to dry and mess up his hair.

Ning Zhi finally stopped when she felt that the soft hair under her hands were almost dried.

Under the soft warm light, she saw Lu Jue looking at her with his pretty eyes.
His hair messy and his look dazed, he was exceptionally cute.

Recalling how he had held her tightly during the car accident, she felt that her heart was pawed by a meaty little paw and it tingled.

Standing in front of Lu Jue and holding his cheeks with both hands, she asked him bluntly.
“Do you want to kiss?”

The light casted down into Lu Jue’s eyes and his black eyes lit up right away.
Happiness was coming out from even between his brows.
He grunted a few times from deep inside his throat, like a little beast awru’ing, “Yes, yes.”
