I looked her up and down, consuming all the details of her every being. Jet black hair, rosy red lips, gorgeous green eyes, nearly pale skin and a slim figure perfectly outlined by the red and black flower pattern dress she was wearing. Not only was I entranced by her appearance, but also by the courage she showed in telling me that, even though it was painfully obvious that she was nervous. There was also something about her smile; it was quirky yet beautiful; it was perfect. ” I think you

Even though her head was down, I could still see her smile grow twice its size. Then, my commanding and bold side came over me. ”Look me in the eyes, ” I said while chuckling. She lifted her head and stared into my eyes, and at that moment, something inside me felt so wrong that it almost felt right. My mind was telling me to stay away, but every other part of me craved a girl Id only just met. ” Meet me by the school gate at 9 p.m. tomorrow, ” I said, not realizing what I was saying until I was done. She got up and picked up her tray. For a split second, I thought I had driven her away until she bends down and whispered into my ear, ” Don be late. ”

I just scored myself a date on the first day of school, and it was the most exciting yet terrifying experience of my life. I was screwed; the closest thing to a date Ive been on is having Nyssa go to our 8th-grade prom with me out of pity. Either way, its tomorrows problem because I have class in a few minutes, and after that, I have my first Alpha Trial. The rest of the school day was filled with Icebreakers and bonding games, so time went by quickly. After school ended, I headed straight to the packs meeting place in the woods.

I had to sit in a scorching hot cabin while everyone prepared for the ceremony. After a few hours, the pack advisor, Ducan, led me to the fire pit. Then the Alpha ( My Father, Silan) Walked up to me and shouted,

” What is the First Dogma? ”.

”An Alpha must be right and just to all pack members! ” I answered.

Shouting again, he asked, ” What is the Second Dogma? ”

Yelling back, I replied, ” An Alpha must Lead by Example! ”

Again he shouted, ” What is the Third? ”.

” In unity, there is strength! ” I bellowed.

” What is the Fourth Dogma? ” he exclaimed.

Replying firmly, I said, ” Strenght is meant to help others, not yourself! ”

Settling his voice to a calm tone, the Alpha said, ” You have passed your first Trial ”. Cheers of joy erupted into the air, but they weren for me. Nobody wanted me to be Alpha, but they cheered anyway to please my dad. In the commotion, I asked my father to speak to him in private. He took me to his cabin and asked, ” Whats wrong? ”. ” Im sick of this, ” I replied Im sick of everyone pretending to be happy when in reality they hate me. I don want to be Alpha to a pack that basically wants me dead ”. ” I know you feel out of place, but its your duty as a man of the Lycan family. Also, remember that it doesn matter if they want you or not. You have to prove to them that they need you to lead ”. ” Yeah, I know, dad, youve been telling me that since I was twelve, ” with that, I walked out of the cabin and went on a run.

Running has always helped me clear my head whenever Im frustrated, but it didn seem to be working. Just as my thoughts began to consume me, I hear a sound come from the bushes. I turned around immediately and saw a pair of glow eyes like mine, one red and one blue. I glowed my eyes to trigger my enhanced sight so that I could see who it was. It took me a minute, but I couldn believe my eyes when the persons face came into focus.
